Amazing Results! But.... August 14, 2010 Cosmos Mom Purchased this collar as a last ditch effort when facing eviction or "get rid of the damn dog!"... I was nervous at first because the first couple settings didn't work (he's a beast!!) but now we've managed to find one that works on my high drive, high energy GSD, who even after 2 hours of exercise per day AND schutzund class 3 days a week was STILL barking at the neighbors. It absolutely saved us and nothing else had worked previously, citronella collars, countless other pet store brand bark collars, behavioral therapy, positive reinforcement, etc etc.
Gave it four stars only because at just after 30 days (go figure) of using it, the collar malfunctioned and wouldn't hold a full battery charge and smarty pants realized that after a while it would die and he could "talk" to the neighbors. It seemed that I had gotten a lemon, but considering it worked when absolutely nothing else would, that's even ok! Dogtra has been great and offered to fix or replace it for me, so I'm ordering a second to use in the meantime and have as backup.
Highly recommend for anyone with a stubborn or high energy dog. For those who are concerned, he doesn't wear it when we are at home and will alert us (with a proper, healthy bark) if a stranger enters the yard.
Few tips: Take the time to use it and learn what works for your dog - it make be a bit of trial and error but with patience I'm confident it will work out! All it takes is reading the instructions and knowing your pup. Please don't leave it on your dog 24-7, it doesn't replace time spent exercising or just hanging out with your dog, and might irritate their neck! Last, make sure it is tight enough that the prongs make contact, for dogs who have such thick coats (like GSD's, Husky's etc), if it isn't working, it may not be tight enough.
Good luck! (and thanks again Dogtra people!)

Works to control barking and fits our Great Danes August 7, 2010 T. Bell (Seattle, WA USA) I had no experience with bark collars, but we felt we needed to do something to preserve the peace for our neighbors. This collar was described as fitting "large breeds", but there was no description of the collar size. This concerned me when placing my order - since I have two very large Great Danes, I was worried the bark collar would not fit. I gambled anyway, because I trust Amazon should I need to make a return. Good news! The collar fit our 140 lbs., 3 year old Great Dane with room to spare. It also fit our 100 lbs., 7 month old Great Dane with plenty of rooom to grow. Even better news! The collars work for both dogs. I've set the dial on 2-1/2 out of 10 and that seems to be effective. It has only been three days, but the dogs seem much quieter and seem to have adjusted just fine. They have learned to control their impulse to bark and seem calmer. We only use the collars when we are away from home at work and remove them as soon as we get home. I'm not sure I'd want to use them for extended period of time.
Beats Wal-Mart's useless bark collar May 7, 2010 digitaldavea 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought one, we have two dogs, but wanted to see if it indeed worked as it stated. And it did, it does..so we got the second one. Now my numbnut neighbor has nothing to complain about. that we know of.
Needs charging Often April 1, 2010 J. Stewart (lv2reade) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This collar works but it needs to be charged more often than once a week as per instructions. Also seems to shift sometimes even though it is as tight as I can fasten it without choking my dog. I use the third setting and she still barks but just not as loudly, smart dog has figured out what sets it off. I am a dog trainer and do not usually recommend bark collars but my dog has a "game" where she runs back and forth and barks at the neighbors dog on the other side of a block wall and has injured herself in her zeal. Before the neighbors decided to get a dog that they leave out pretty much all of the time I had her trained to bark and run inside to her kennel to get a treat. She would bark once or twice at whatever noise she heard and come right back in, surprisingly she never faked a bark to just get a treat. I still use this type of positive reinforcement because just using a bark collar without it can cause a negative change to a dogs personality, especially if the bark collar is set too high or over used.
Dogtra great no-bark collar! January 30, 2010 Dianna Broadbent (Logan, UT USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This dog collar is an excellent choice when you have a dog that just doesn't get it that barking is bad and when you say quiet it means for more than 5 seconds! It's a great collar at a great price:)
