Product Description The Wi Fi Waterproof Collar Transceiver is extremely small at 2.5"" in width, 1.5"" in tall and only 1.25"" deep. It only weighs 2.3 ounces, yet is packed with advanced electronics. The collar can be preset to one of 4 fixed static correction levels or a Progressive Correction setting. When approaching the preset boundary the collar emits a warning tone. If your dog continues to approach the boundary the preset correction level will be triggered. If you have selected setting 5 then Progressive Correction will be triggered. Progressive Correction starts at the lowest level. If your dog continues toward the boundary the internal microchip will continually increase the correction level based on the speed your dog is approaching the boundary and the distance your dog is away from the boundary. You can monitor this from your Smart Wi-Fi Base Station. In a multi-dog system, each collar can be independently programmed allowing you to customize your system for the temperament of each dog. Should your dog leave the Safe Zone the Correction will halt after 30 seconds. The Perimeter Wi-Fi Pet Fence includes a battery charger built into the Transmitter-Base ""Smart Station"" and two rechargeable batteries. Just put the fully charged battery in the collar and the drained one in the Smart Station. The Base Smart Station charges the battery while it monitors the charge level of the battery in the collar. When the battery in the collar gets low, take the fully charged battery from the Base Smart Station and replace the battery in the collar -- save money not buying replacement batteries. Battery recharge time normally takes 3 - 4 hours. When the battery in the Smart Base Station is fully recharged, it will act as a battery backup for 8 hours should the household power go out. This safety feature allows for continual safe operation and containment of your dog.
NOTE: This product may not be used around a metal roof, large metal structures, or buried wires.

Complete garbage July 16, 2010 Mike M. (The Pacific Northwet) My house sits in the middle of a flat piece of property with yard on all sides. Stick framed house with lots of windows and no metal to interfere with reception. I have the unit setup in the middle of the house. This unit will only "see" about a 30 degree arc in the front and back of the house. It does not work for most of the perimeter. It will also not work consistently. I can walk to the edge of the front yard and get a tone. I can go back until the tone stops then walk out to the very same spot, and beyond, and I will not get a tone. The entire time I can see the unit through the front window.
I even tried setting it in the middle of the yard (Flat yard, remember.) and it will not work in a 360 degree circle, nor will it work in the same spot twice. When you do get reception it is very inconsistent, which is very bad for training a dog.
COMPLETE GARBAGE. DO NOT BUY. I learned my lesson and should have listened to all the bad reviews.
Tara June 23, 2010 Tara S (Rhode Island) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this system in March and found it fairly easy to set up. Our dog did well with the training and in stayed within the bounds. However about 5-6 weeks later the unit would frequently stop registering where the dog was and no longer signal lost reception or fence challenge. As the days go by the unit becomes more and more unreliable. I have attempted to return the unit to Perimeter Technologies but they have been little help. The system is too unreliable to keep pets safe.
Excellent product June 3, 2010 Tom Schaefer (Conover,NC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best Dog containment product I've ever owned. There are a few issues with coverage. But they can be dealt with by placement of the unit. My unit is in the middle of our house, there are weak spots and if she lays down on our concrete front porch it losses contact with the collar. The front door is a steel door and explains that issue. We love this unit, I have had Dogs all of my life 50+ years and this id the easiest best product I have ever had.
1.5 Stars??? May 13, 2010 Karl K. Knapp (Cody, WY United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had the wired dog fences in the past and they work very well. Of course this depends on the will of your dog! However, this wireless fence is just to unpredictable for my taste. My dog is a fence jumper so we got this system, as we rent, and wanted to have something portable. The base and dog were both in the house and it would lose signal to her collar and start beeping, freaking her out. Often it would zap her in one place in the yard and then closer the next time. Finally she would just go out and curl up in one spot and not move as other reviews have said. The base had clear line of sight to the yard. Other than putting it out in the middle of the yard, I tried it everywhere in the house. If you are into camping and want to use this for that, I would say do it. But for a house it works about as well as WiFi internet... the closer you are to it with line of sight, the better. It will also drop in and out based on seemingly nothing more than the weather and time of day. For reference, I have a square yard with a fence and I set the perimeter to just inside of the closest part of the fence to the house. It was somewhat easy to set up but I am a gadget guy so I like to figure things out. My wife gave up trying after a few minutes and when I wasn't around just shut it off when it acted up. It now sits in the garage until I figure out what to do with it or who to unload it on! I would say do the wired pet fence for reliability, it's what I went back to.
Danger Don't Buy May 1, 2010 John W. Reifenberger (Poughkeepsie, New York) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First, I have a BS in electrical engineering and work as an engineer; I work with wireless networks all day. That said, I could not get this to work. I see the problem. They are saving battery power by updating the dog location as a function of distance from the base. This means, if your dog knows how to run, he can get in the road and run over by a truck before the system alarms. If you have a 20 acre ranch and want to keep doggy near the house........ Maybe this is ok. But, that is it.
